Surgically: Most people have 3 internal hemorrhoids, one on the left side and two on the right. If a patient requires hemorrhoid surgery, all 3 should be removed. The technique will vary by the surgeon, and you should select your surgeon on the basis of training and the results he gets with his partivcular technique. I prefer the standard hemorrhoidectomy using a scalpel. In 27 years I have had no problems.
