Can shrink or grow: The soft spot is a simple opening between plates of bone that can be tiny or > a grapefruit in size. It can widen some or become narrower as a baby grows, but most are undetectable by 6-9 months. It is subject to change over time and the amount can be verified as OK at your next scheduled well checkup.
