Dr. Marcie Berman answered

Specializes in Clinical Psychology

Common signs include: Nightmares, trouble sleeping, anxiety, hypervigilance and easily startled, reliving, the traumatic event in your mind, and many more. It is too complex to really advise because different people have different experiences. If you suspect you are suffering from PTSD , make an appointment to speak with someone. It will help you to understand what is,going on inside.

Symptom Clusters: The diagnosis of PTSD requires four sets of symptom clusters, including intrusion or re-experiencing, avoidance of people, places, and things associated with the trauma, negative alterations in mood or thought, and hyper-arousal. Less commonly, dissociation may occur where feelings of being disconnected from oneself or the sense that that one's surroundings aren't real are experienced.
