Zyrtec (cetirizine) + Benedryl: The occassional use of Benedryl for breakthrough allergy symptoms in addition to regular use of Zyrtec (cetirizine) should generally not cause any problems. Dosing of Benedryl is based on your child's current weight. A simple phone call to your pediatrician should be all that is needed to confirm that the appropriate doses of Zyrtec (cetirizine) and Benedryl are being given.
