Recurrent Strep: Recurrent or persistent Strep infections are sometimes eradicated with a 2 weeks or longer course of cephalexin, which may be better at eradicating the carrier state than Amoxil (amoxicillin). Tonsillectomy is necessary for some people with recurrent episodes.
