Antidepressants stop: There are several reasons I see when antidepressants stop working. 1)missing taking; 2)alcohol use as little as 2 drinks/week for woman, 4 for man; 3)wrong diagnosis- cycling bipolar instead of unipolar depression; 4)overwhelming stress exceeding capacity for meds-would require psychotherapy for PTSD-like symptoms.
