Rare but possible: Yes. Taking too much Xanax (alprazolam) can kill you, although it is difficult to overdose and die from Xanax (alprazolam). In fact, Xanax (alprazolam) is known to be a relatively safe drug at high doses. Xanax (alprazolam) is an anti-anxiety medication often prescribed for its fast-acting effects on anxiety and panic disorders, but it’s also habit-forming and is frequently abused for its tranquilizing effects. Can you get high on Xanax (alprazolam)? Yes, in some cases. However, Xanax (alprazolam) is most dangerous when combined with other drugs, which is why recreational use can be so dangerous. When taken as prescribed, Xanax (alprazolam) is a very safe medication.

Possible: There is no simple answer to how much xanax (alprazolam) (a type of benzodiazepine) is a lethal dose. Each person's body is different, so the way the powerful narcotic is processed on a person to person basis is also different. The chances of overdose are accelerated by other intoxicants consumed, chiefly alcohol. All prescription drugs come with directions written on the bottle and are to be followed strictly.
