No: It depends. If you take low dose (81 mg), it reduces clotting which is implicated in heart attacks. If you take normal pain relieving doses (650-1,000 mg), it can stop muscular chest pain. Generic Aspirin works fine but be sure it's not out of date as it loses its potency. If you take full dose aspirin, be sure to take it with food so it doesn't irritate your stomach.
