Not sure: A bunion is a bump involving the big toe due to the joint collapsing and the toe being pushed in towards the foot. Best to see a doctor if a foot problem persists.

Nope: You have what they call a tailor's bunion. It is a functional problem that has developed over time. Will not get better in terms of deformity, but could stay the same. Need to separate what it looks like with what it feels like. It is much harder for females to do this. It could get worse in terms of what it looks like. See a Podiatrist in your area and they can give you your options.

Pain may resolve.: A "bunion" at the base of the fifth toe is called a tailors bunion. It is usually just a prominent 5th metatarsal head which can enlarge with pressure/irritation from shoes. More comfortable/wider shoes often decrease the pain. If it is a significant problem see a Dr. for an X-ray.

No: First, a bunion is not going to be located in your 'small toe' but a Tailors bunion can be located at the joint just behind the small toe called the 5th metatarsalphalangeal joint. And unfortunately, a Tailors bunion deformity does not spontaneously disappear although you can alleviate pain associated with this condition by wearing wider shoes, NSAIDs, and icing. But surgery is the only true cure.

No, it will not: What you are describing is likely a Tailor's bunion, which is a deviation of the fifth metatarsal from the fourth metatarsal bones. This makes it appear as if you have a bunion on the other side of your foot. It will not heal on its own. If you are experiencing pain with the Tailor's bunion you should see your podiatrist or foot and ankle orthopedist for treatment options.

Bunionette: A bunion on the little toe is called a bunionette or a Tailor's bunion. The pain associated with it is from the actual deformity and the biomechanical change which results on inflammation of the capsule at the joint. It does not spontaneously heal. There are different treatment options based on conservative as well as surgical options. See the podiatrist.

You might have a: tailors bunion by your 5th metatarsal head, but none in your small toe. A bunion is a bump of bone and hence doesn't spontaneously disappear….

Hammertoe: If it is the small toe the bump is the joint protruding, it rubs against shoe and becomes painful. Try different shoes, if still no relief see a Podiatrist
