My mum has a diagnosed parkinson's disease and she's suffering a lot from muscle rigidity. she can't relax her shoulders at all. can i ask a cosmetic surgeon to inject botox to relieve some pain?

PT medication change: I would first discuss the problem with her neurologist. PD can not only can cause rigidity in the limbs, but also in the trunk ,neck, etc. A careful exam will help to see if her symptoms are from PD, or from a "frozen" shoulder syndrome from other causes. Physical therapy, massage, exercise, and PD medication changes may really help before treatments such as Botox.

Botox in Parkinson's: Yes Botox can be helpful, not curative in parkinson's, especially with dystonia. But should be done by her treating neurologist not a cosmetic surgeon
