BIRTH DEFECTS: Birth defects happen in all countries. There are higher incidences of certain birth defects in certain countries due to dietary issues. In addition certain medications are more readily available in other countries and they can cause birth defects. In addition more sonograms are done in this country and therefore we can detect these abnormalities, not all babies with birth defects are born.
