Swelling/numbness: Most common cause is infection, such as abscessed tooth and/or gum disease. Salivary gland infection is relatively rare. To begin the diagnostic process, please see your Dentist for a comprehensive examination, imaging, and possibly lab tests. Facial swelling should be immediately attended because of the risk of airway compromise.
