May be blocked duct: Salivary ducts (tubes) bring saliva from the salivary glands to the mouth. If a person has a salivary stone or some other problem that blocks a duct, then her saliva gland will swell up each time she makes saliva, such as when eating. An ENT doctor can evaluate. Meanwhile, a salivary stone might get pushed out of the duct by increasing the flow of saliva, such as by sucking on hard candies.

Professional Help: You may have a blocked salivary gland duct, a TMJ problem, or an infection. This is more a Dental than a Medical problem. Seek examination by a specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon.
