A member asked:

Can it happen that the tube wont go through as the person might still be very constipated during a colonoscopy procedure? if so, what is done then?

It is possible.: Because the goal is to be able to examine the lining of the colon, the laxative given the day before a colonoscopy is very potent. Usually, if it is taken properly, it cleans the colon well. Occasionally, there will still be stool left behind, and if it is too much, the procedure may need to be rescheduled with further laxatives given.
