A member asked:

I had and mri due to amenorrhea and low progesterone , it shows pituitary gland smaller than usual. does size affect function?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually not: The size of the pituitary usually does not relate to the function. Some people have an "empty sella", where you cannot see the pituitary gland at all, but still have normal pituitarty function.
