Bump on head.: You can get an egg like bump when you hit your head. Blood is trapped under a tissue covering the bone. This will resolve on its own. Should be safe to sleep especially if you didn't pass out when you hit your head. If this blow to your head left you rattled or confused then have someone check on you early in the AM. They just need to see if they can wake you.
