Specializes in Trauma Surgery

Control diabetes: Fournier's is an aggressive infection of the groin area. Usually requires surgical removal of tissue. Most patients require long term wound care. Happens most commonly in diabetics, so sugar control is essential. Often a surgeon, urologist and plastic surgeon are involved. Follow their recommendations. Keeping the wound clean is essential.
