Topamax (topiramate): is a newer anticonvulsant that blocks voltage-gated sodium ion channels. Topamax (topiramate) is being promoted as the successor to Gabapentin and is prescribed for a variety of pain disorders including the prophylaxis of migraine headache. A common side effects of the topamax (topiramate) are loss of appetite, diarrhea, and weight loss. Also topamax (topiramate) is a prophylactic medication for migraine and other headaches..
