Be prepared: Xanax (alprazolam) can be sedating so I would be prepared to not have to go anywhere for several hours to see how the dose affects you.

The best person to: answer this question is the prescribing physician, who has a duty to inform you of how to take the med, what it will do, side effects and precautions. The dispensing pharmacist can do the same. They are better resources, since they can ask you questions and know your history, than a stranger online. Don't drink on it, don't drive on it until you see how it effects you, don't combine other meds.
