Normal: When you yawn, the Eustachian tube (the channel that connects the back of the nose to the middle ear) opens and gases (air) from the back of the nose reach the middle ear space and often the patient can experience a crackle. This is a normal physiological phenomenon and every body should experience this event. Your sickness probably is independent of this normal process.
