Depends : It really depends on how the pterygium surgery was done. As a general rule, you should avoid heaving lifting, bending over and straining, to minimize the risk of bleeding post-op for 1 week. Your eyes should also be kept dry. You may also need to wear a shield to protect the surgical site. Ask your surgeon for more detailed post-of care instructions.

Pterygium Surgery: After Pterygium Surgery: avoid sun, protect eyes from wind/dirt also; avoid rubbing eye, swimming with eyes open under water for first 5-7 days. Wear shield when sleeping first 5-7 days. Use steroid & antibiotic drops as indicated. Start gentle lid hygiene cleaning after 1st 8 days. Consider asking if you have demodex on eyelids and need tea tree oil.
