Pediatrician: An 8 month old is still, in essence, an immunosuppressed host. If there are changes in feeding habits, alertness, sleep patterns, behavior and so on, it is always best to have the baby assessed by a professional. This is probably benign, but because even if rare things are missed in this young a baby they can become very severe very quickly. Better safe than sorry.
