A member asked:

I have a radial head fracture. it happened ten days ago. still swollen. is it okay to regularly put ice on it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ice – no harm: Ice is most helpful in the first 48 to 72 hours. It helps to control swelling and pain.Even now, periodic use of ice – 20 minutes every 2 to 3 hours while awake will still help relieve pain and the inflammation of injury. If you have a radial head fracture – began extension stretching exercises to your elbow as soon as possible. Loss of elbow extension is a risk with radial head fractures
