Lean forward: During an active bleed, have her lean forward and gently pinch the outer walls of the nose together.Hold for 2-4 minutes and see if the bleeding has stopped. Blot but do not rub the nose.Leaning her back will put the blood into her stomach and cause bloody vomiting.Invest in some nasal saline gel (Ayr makes one) and place a dab in each nostril at bedtime every night & the frequency should decline.
