It can: It depends on how acute the infection is, how severe, and what stage of illness it is. But an acute untreated infection could show a rise in CRP. In an infection that is being actively treated appropriately, the CRP should not be continuing to rise or stay high. If it is high, there is likely another cause or the TB is not being treated.
