A member asked:

Aside from acromegaly, what other types of medical conditions/problems could cause someone years after puberty ended to have an increase in height?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

None: Once growth plates are fused, it is not possible to grow taller, even if you have acromegaly. Acromegaly in an adult will cause increased size of soft tissues so that hands and feet are larger, but not taller. Some people will not have complete closer of growth plates until they are many years after puberty, but it would be unlikely after age 20.
