I don't think so: In thin, normal people, the heart can be palpated in or around the mid-clavicular line, 5th intercostal space on the left - this is called "the point of maximal impulse" or PMI. It's also sometimes called "the apex beat." I suspect that's what you're seeing and/or feeling. It's normal. (in fact, it's healthy!).
