Allergy?: It is very possible that you are having an allergic reaction to one or more of the ingredients in the cookies. Probably a treat you will need to avoid.

Yes: Though highly unlikely. And if gums are traumatized brushing your teeth will not miraculously result in instant healing. You may have gum disease (how long since your last check-up/professional cleaning), or an allergic response to one or more of the ingredients in the cookies. Please see your Dentist. Referral to an Allergist may be in order.
