Fifth's disease: Fifth's disease is also known as the "splapped face"syndrome. Your child's red cheeks may be the fore runner of the illness. Consult your OB about the severity of the illness.

May be 5ths: If your kids cheeks begin to fade and a fine rash comes up on the trunk and extremities it may well be 5ths.You likely had it as a kid, and if so would be immune and your baby not at risk. I would call your OB and let them know. They may want to do some testing on you.
