How do i tell if it's a spider bite or some kind of infection?

Bite mark: Spider bite usually may have bite mark within the skin lesion. Secondary infection may also exist depending on the bite itself, and how long it has been going on. In plain cellulitis/skin infection you may not always see the entrance of the infection (port d'entree).

Sometimes difficult: These are sometimes difficult to tell apart and sometimes bites can become infected. Bites may have a central puncture wound although with all the redness and inflammation it can be hard to see. It may be felt rather than seen.

Yes they can: Any bite to the skin can get secondarily infected. Best not to scratch the bite and use a topical antibiotic for a few days. See your doctor if the bite is getting more red, swollen, and painful.
