See your dentist: Sensitive teeth are typically the cause of worn tooth enamel or exposed tooth roots. Sometimes, however, tooth discomfort is caused by other factors, such a cracked or chipped tooth or home whitening. If you're concerned about sensitive teeth, the good starting point is to visit your dentist. He or she will find the cause and treat accordingly. Take care.

General sensitivity: It could be from bruxism and\or generalized gum recession with subsequent root sensitivity. You might require a night guard and any number of desensitizing tooth pastes or treatments. If your current dentist cannot identify and solve this issue, go for a second opinion.

Sensitivity: Most common cause of generalized tooth sensitivity is receding gums with resultant root exposure. See your Dentist. Referral to a Periodontist may be in order. DO NOT scrub your teeth hard, be gentle. Use a toothpaste for sensitive teeth. Use a fluoride mouthwash. Bust most important, see your Dentist.
