Medication harmful?: It would appear that taking your medication on time would help to avoid your symptoms. You were given this medication for a good reason (tachycardia). The medication has not caused this condition, not taking it is the reason for the symptoms. Perhaps, a more long-acting beta-blocker would be indicated (one or two times daily). Has your thyroid function been evaluated? You should see pcp.

Withdrawal: Propranalol is a type of beta blocker. It is used to reduce blood pressure and heart rate. After a while of taking these medications, you can experience withdrawal if spike a dose or two. Usually the withdrawal occurs in form of increased heart rate or tachycardia and this will lead to pounding of heart and will lead to shortness of breath.
