A member asked:

Which epilepsy medication doesn't affect unborn children?

A doctor has provided 1 answer
Dr. Jay Park answered

None: All the antiepiletic drugs(aed) have a potential to cause birth defect(s). The risk can be minimized by monotherapy instead of multiple combination, lowest effective amount of aed, and Folic Acid supplementation. Valproate has the highest potential to cause birth defect and should be avoided.
