Dilantin : Dilantin is a standard medication used to treat epilepsy for years. It is a fairly good anti-seizure medication. I am concerned that you describe a localized jerking movement. This might be a sign that your seizures might be worse. Please see your physician or neurologist to reevaluate your seizure and your medications. They may need to adjust your regimen. Be careful. Best wishes.

Hmmm....: I suspect that the left-sided jerking is seizure activity, and not a Dilantin side effect. Dilantin has been on the market since the 30's, as i recall. It's a bit more sedating that many of the newer seizure medications (head-to-head trials were done). But, it's not any worse at preventing seizures. It's time for you to discuss this with your neurologist or epileptologist.
