A member asked:

I had dinner with beer after 10 hours fasting my blood sugar 132 mgl is this healthy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pre-diabetes: this is not a normal fasting blood sugar, and may indicate the presence of either pre-diabetes and/or metabolic syndrome (abdominal obesity, hypertension, abnormal glucose tolerance and high triglyceride levels, usually with high "bad" cholesterol (LDL) and low "good" cholesterol (HDL). Alcohol does not help this syndrome, and the calories from it and carbohydrates in beer aren't helping either.
