Seek help!: Usually, personality disorders are not associated with dual identities, however certain PDs can imply extreme changes in mood and behavior that people can interpret as "being 2 different persons". A true split personality is known a Dissociative identity Disorder in which 2 personalities or more coexist in 1 person at the same time. Dissociative: Identity Disorder (DID) is what TV called "multiple personality." These folks often have a dozen or more "personalities." It is the result of major trauma and is not the same as people who are moody. Personality disorders are different from DID and refer to deep patterns of behavior. Peace and good health. Diagnosis and treatment are needed in either case.
