Sedatives: Treatment of choice for panic disorder is psychotherapy and if symptoms and/or dysfunction is severe, then prescription medication. First choice regarding medication is selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. Sedatives can be used but caution should be exercised regarding risk of abuse and/or dependence. Sedatives should not be abruptly discontinued.

Hello, how can I safely taper off 0.5 mg Klonopin? I used to take 1-2mg per day for 10 years. Two months ago, I cut down to only 0.5mg but did it so fast that I did experience intense rebound anxiety/panic attacks. I remain on 0.5mg 1x a day. Thanks
Is it bad to switch off between taking ativan and klonopin? I usually take klonopin if I wake up with alot of anxiety and ativan for sudden panic attacks during the day. Is this okay or will it cause problems?
I take Klonopin .5 twice a day for anxiety and panic attacks. Will clonidine do the same thing or have the same affect.
My doc thinks being on 100mg Zoloft (sertraline) will balance my panic disorder and anxiety with taking 1mg klonopin 2x day. I do not feel klonopin effects. Why?
