Herniated disc: Not to worry but you should visit a neurosurgeon in the next week for evaluation and treatment. Myelomalacia is swelling or bruising of the spinal cord from the herniated disc. Do not do repetitive lifting and bending (housework/yardwork) until a neurosurgeon sees you because the weakness and numbness could worsen with these activities. Avoid contact sports or jarring exercises (running) too.
