RCT or EXT?: Your own dentist should be able to determine and then advise you whether or not it would be better to save a tooth with root canal therapy or have it extracted. Have a serious one on one discussion with your own dentist to discuss treatment options and long term prognosis. If necessary, go for a second or even a third opinion until you full understand and agree with the decision.

Root canal: If a tooth can be saved with a good prognosis, the root canal is the treatment of choice. Your dentist will check, evaluate and offer advice specific to your individual situation.

Depends: Try and save the tooth if at all possible. Not all teeth can be saved depending upon the condition of the tooth (fractured roots, etc.) and other options may be the best direction to take- implants, bridges, partials. If in doubt, get more than one opinion.
