What do you suggest if i hit it on a tap recently and a little bit of the tooth came of. can they shorten the other one to look the same or bond it?

Suggestion-: See your dentist. There are a number of things that have to be looked into other than just how to equalize the contours of both teeth. More often than not, it is better to add to the chipped tooth rather than shorten the longer one, although that is still a possibility. Your dentist after examining you can discuss your options and suggest the best one.
