Finger fractures: bones take 6-8 weeks to fully heal but how long you need to be casted or splinted depons a lot upon the type of fracture, the location, the quality of the fracture and many factors. For example a simple non displaced fracture not in a joint may need just three weeks of protection followed by progressive motion even if it its not fully healed yet.

About 6 weeks.: About 6 weeks. Hopefully, it's a simple fracture that is well aligned. You should be seen by an orthopedic hand specialist for the optimal treatment.
