Has anyone's child had the chicken pox twice?

Chicken pox: People often wonder whether it is possible to get chickenpox twice. The answer is yes, although this is rare. For most people, one infection is thought to develop lifelong immunity. Getting chickenpox twice is more common in people who are immunocompromised.

Shouldn't: Once you have chickenpox you should have immunity for future illness however it is a virus that stays in our bodies on a nerve root. So chickenpox recurs later as shingles. Two different presentations from the same virus, but you don;t get chickenpox twice.

Most= misdiagnosis: There are instances where the kid likely had it in the womb or in the first months of life and failed to gain the permanent immunity it is known for. Many docs don't want you to bring this to the office because its sooo contagious. Unfortunately, many then receive the chickenpox label from well meaning relatives and really had something else.
