Could be serious.: Was the vision loss sudden? If so, you should consider this an ophthalmological emergency. You could have a problem with the circulation to the eye (retinal artery), or optic nerve. Loss of vision should never be considered normal, unless it is simply a refractive problem requiring corrective lenses. I highly suggest you get another opinion from another opthamologist.
