Share your pain: Faking anything is not likely to win you authentic friends, relationships, or self esteem. But it is a very good question. The dishonesty of trying for perfection and the isolation that comes with some depressive illnesses may be leading to feeling so alone in the world. Seek group therapy. Seek volunteer opportunities where you help others. Go be vulnerable and real and honestly ask for help.

Please don't: Please talk to your parents about how you are feeling. Is there a counselor at school? Better yet, working with a therapist can help to explore this and assist you to find better ways to get your needs met. Take care.
