"months": A new tooth--if you mean by an adult permanent tooth coming in after a baby tooth has come out, it will be only a few weeks at most, before a new tooth come in. How long will it take for the permanent tooth to erupt ("come in") COMPLETELY, it often takes months. During this young age, all other teeth are still erupting, and complete eruption may take years before teeth stop moving.

There are two sets of teeth for humans.. the primary teeth (baby teeth) and the permanent teeth that follow. At your age, your current dentition is made up of permanent teeth. There are no new teeth to replace one that is lost.

You will not grow a new tooth to replace the one that was lost. You should consult a dentist who may be able to implant a prosthetic tooth that would work almost like a real tooth. Wish you good health!

You have 20 baby teeth, all of which should have fallen out by age 13-14. You have 32 permanent teeth, all of which should have fully erupted by about 20-21. If you loose a permanent tooth there are no replacements other than those available through dental science. Please see a Dentist to find out why you lost a tooth at 41, and what choices ho have.
