Depends: every person is different it's a big operation no matter who you are and every body recovers a little differently I typically tell patients it will take up to a year to be as good as you can be following your procedure

Recovery: typically is about 2-3 months. It is an inpatient surgery you are in the hospital 2-3 days and then either go home with PT or to Rehab. You are up walking either the day of or after surgery. stitches out at two weeks. You have to follow certain precautions such as no forward bending, deep squatting, etc for about 6 weeks. strength and ROM progress as you can tolerate.

People recover quickly from hip replacement. There is a range, but often 85% better at 6 weeks, 95% better at 3 months, and even better at one year.
