Can you tell me how is sleep deprivation linked to depression?

Depleted: Our moods are greatly affected by our body chemistry. If you do not sleep or do not sleep deeply enough you will not produce enough neurotransmitters which are produced in stage 4 sleep. If your neurotransmitters are depleted you feel cranky and or depressed. Also if you are tired long enough you will be in a bad mood because you feel bad.
