Individualized: This is a difficult question to answer without knowing you, but the first thing that comes to mind is paroxetine (Paxil an SSRI). It is mildly sedating in most people, so should help with sleep. It is very good for depression & anxiety. It has a low side effect profile. Older meds called tricyclics could be good, but have more side effects. Be prepared to try 1 or 2 to get the right fit.

It depends. With any: illness, including depression, a complete evaluation is always the deciding factor, along with the patient, and prior to prescribing anything. Once the patient and the provider have discussed the risks, benefits, alternatives to the treatment, based upon the findings, then would a med be justified. In your case, there are many meds that may be beneficial for you. Please discuss with your doctor.
