No: When patients develop metastatc cancer or some form of advanced cancer requiring pain control, analgesics like Aspirin or Tylenol (acetaminophen) offer little if any benefit. It general dilaudid, or a morphine derivative is required. Sometimes localized pain can be obtained by using electrostimulation with a TENS pad or an anesthetic nerve block.
