Multiple choices: Fibroids are treated if they are symptomatic. Common symptoms include heavy menses, pelvic pain, and increased urinary frequency. Choices for treatment often start out with medicines (exs. tranexamic acid or birth control pills). If these are ineffective consideration should be given to Uterine Fibroid Embolization (non-surgical outpatient procedure) or surgery (exs. myomectomy, hysterectomy).
